Conference, Cologne

On the floor plan the access to the conference rooms is through a long and relatively narrow space, completely glazed on the outside. Our design approach was to create a transitional zone between the inner and outer spaces. In this way, the walls, flooring and ceiling are unified by their design using various light and dark types of wood.

The irregular striped pattern and fall of light from spotlights slotted into the ceiling, is reminiscent in an abstract way, of the play of light and shadow in a leafy forest. The conference rooms are designed to be quiet and discreet places, and the lush, green tonality of leaves is continued over into the seating alcoves.
