EKD Hall, Berlin
This space, which was used even in DDR times as a function room by the music and television industries for
events, is still a popular events hall today. What counted here was to leave the basic structure as it was, but
to breathe new life into it. Conceptually, we strove to keep the hall intact as a whole and yet pay tribute to
it in its new function.
So we covered the entire hall with a uniform blue-grey in order to keep the structure together as a whole. The
original chandeliers remain and are even accentuated through the design of a new lighting scheme. As a new,
atmospheric element, the glass floor builds the stage for the new function of the space.
