Eurogress, Aachen

The conference centre in Aachen should be able to accommodate as diverse a range of events as possible; concerts, trade fairs, conferences and conventions are all held here. To facilitate all these events, we designed a multifunctional structure, suitable for the most varied of uses. As a result, wall panels made from metal mesh were installed, which are effective acoustically and house the necessary technical installations.

The interlocking of the panels produces a framework which takes hold of the entire function room spacially, and brings it together. Coloured LED light offers the possibility of choosing an atmosphere suitable for the event, and to give the function room a different look.

Corresponding to the wall panels are suspended lights specially made for this project, which can be moved across the entire ceiling area of the function room and make the ceiling structure disappear into the dark. In this way a space is created which, in spite of its multifarious forms, has a unified effect and can be made suitable for various different events.
