seven asia, Ascona
For seven asia we translated traditional Asian elements into a modern expression of form. To this end, for
example, classic paper lanterns form a sky which connects the various areas of the restaurant.
Traditionally, the Teppan-Yaki kitchen is open, so that guests can experience the artistic food preparations
right in front of their eyes. It is bordered by a continuous wooden table with seating for 12 guests. Other
traditional elements which have not been overlooked are the Gong which is sounded on special occasions and an
aquarium with ornamental fish.
The colour scheme is restricted to tones of grey and a bright red which bathes the room in warm light. The
material concept is further complemented through the use of distinctively grained, warm-hued wood. The material
and colour concept is also evident in the terrace and the design of the facade, so from outside guests already
have an impression of what awaits them inside.
