From it's prominent position on Budapester Strasse the Intercontinental, with a chequered facade listed as worthy of conservation, has long been a feature on the landscape of Berlin´s West-City. The latest phase of renovation and expansion, including the newly-built south wing and ist lively arcade on the ground floor, has given a new sheen to the hotel that is now a bridge between the old centre in the west of the city and the eastern part of the metropolis.
